Crockin Apple Butter: It's that time of year!!

CrockPot Apple Butter 


I made my first batch of Apple Butter in the crock pot this week! I used Golden delicious apples I picked up at the farmer's market! It turned out delicious!  

Ingredients
  • 3 lb Apples
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 2 tsp Cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp Cloves
  • ¼ tsp Nutmeg
  • ⅛ tsp Salt

Instructions
  1. Wash your apples.
  2. Core peel and chop apples.
  3. Place in slow cooker.
  4. Mix together remaining ingredients and pour over apples.
  5. Cook on high for 1 hour.
  6. Reduce to low and cook for 10-12 hours until mixture turns dark brown.
  7. Use immersion blender to remove lumps or process in blender in batches.
  8. Leave uncover cooking for 1-2 hours until mixture thickens.
  9. Allow to cool. Transfer to airtight containers and store in refrigerator.
